Durham County Council is asking residents to help them to establish existing and future housing requirements and residents only have a few days left to have a say.
A targeted survey has been posted to 35,000 houses within County Durham to provide the council with up to date information on the amount of housing needed and help guide the type and location of new homes to be planned for the coming years, including affordable and older persons housing.
Stuart Timmiss, head of planning, said: “We all need a suitable home, both now and in the future. With this in mind we are undertaking the first comprehensive countywide housing survey. This will provide the council with a clear picture of residents housing needs and aspirations.
“A good response rate will enable us to create appropriate plans up to 2030.”
All surveys must be completed and returned to the council by Friday, March 16.
Details of how to do this are within the survey.
All residents will have the opportunity to be involved when a consultation on the County Durham Plan takes place in September and October.
