Students from Greenfield Community College were able to enjoy an enlightening visit to the Hindu Mandir as part of their RE studies.
The year 10 and 11 GCSE groups enjoyed a valuable opportunity as they visited ISKCON Hindu Temple in Newcastle.
They were able to find out more about the ethics and culture associated with the faith, listen to experiences from priest Kirtida, listening well and asking thoughtful questions about Hindu belief and practice.
They enjoyed a vegetarian curry, had the chance to play drums and even sample traditional dress.
“Thanks must go to all at ISKCON Temple for making this experience so worthwhile, supporting the students with their RE studies and learning more about different cultures,” said the school.
“Thank you to all involved and to the students for their contribution to such a valuable visit which has become an important date in the Greenfield calendar.”
