A number of students going into their final year at Woodham Academy have been recognised for their achievements.
The school hosted its annual Year 11 celebration evening, marking the beginning of the end for Woodham’s top scholars.
The evening began with a celebration of the excellent GCSE results achieved in the summer in English Literature, Biology and Science.
All students were then recognised for the progress that they have made in their studies up to the end of Year 10.
Certificates of Achievement were given to students who’d gained five or more A*-C including English and Mathematics, English Baccalaureate as well as three-plus A*/A grades.
There were also tutor group award winners rewarding students with high effort grades and those with 100% attendance.
The night was a mixture of celebrating what the students have achieved so far, but also acknowledging they need to give maximum effort in the build-up to their final examinations.
Deputy Headteacher Jonathan Lumb said: “It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the students’ achievements so far, with parents and carers, and also build in key information about the importance of revision and exam preparation.
“We wish all of our students success in their final year at Woodham Academy.”
