Glampers are being offered the chance to camp out in style at a County Durham museum.
Killhope: the North of England Lead Mining Museum has taken delivery of two new yurts, similar to the yurts pictured above, which are being offered to holidaymakers.
The furnished Mongolian-style tents have been funded by the North Pennines Leader and the North Pennines AONB Sustainable Development Fund.
Campers will also have use of a catering building where they can use their camping stoves.
The museum already had one yurt, which provides a venue for a range of workshop sessions and can also be hired out for meetings and community events.
Helen Marritt, Killhope administrative officer, said: “The original yurt has been on-site for a year now and has proved to be a fantastic addition to the museum.
“We’ve already had a few people spend the night in there so thought we would offer more people the opportunity to enjoy the museum and have the bonus of waking up in our beautiful countryside.”
