A family fun day in Aycliffe last weekend helped to raised hundreds of pounds for a local dance group.
About 200 people visited the fundraising event hosted by the Aycliffe Dance Academy, at the Bethany Centre, in Woodham, which raised more than £1,600, which will go towards their summer show.
Visitors browsed stalls and children enjoyed a variety of entertainment including a bouncy castle and face painting.
Emma Cox, principal, said that many members of the public supported the event as well as those involved with the dance academy.
“It was a huge success and exceeded everyone’s expectations!” she said.
“The bouncy castle was a massive hit for both children and adults, it was great fun, and we had a special visit from Peppa Pig and Buzz Lightyear which were kindly funded by Party Palz, a local business.
“The children loved seeing their favourite characters come to life, some of the children even managed to have a go on our bouncy castle with Buzz!
“I am extremely grateful for everyone who supported us on the day, who made cakes, donated prizes, who helped on stalls.
“The Fun Day wouldn’t have been as successful if it wasn’t for the help and support of the ADA children and parent’s and the public.
“So a big thank you to everyone who came along, the money raised on the day will go a great way in helping to fund the children’s costumes for our show in July.”
