A free event to help businesses improve their recruitment, retention and care of staff is being held on Aycliffe Business Park.
Aycliffe-based DH Recruitment is hosting the special event at the Xcel Centre on Thursday 25th February, which will include afternoon tea and takeaways, with five expert speakers lined up to reveal some of their top tips on recruitment, HR, occupational health, financial considerations and training.
The event is focused around team effort, and how to retain top talent as well as attracting it.
Author, speaker and coach Nevil Tynemouth, from New Results Training, will talk about helping employers understand how to get the very best out of training.
He will also explore the impact training has on companies, and how they can get the best return on time and money invested.
Nevil was involved in launching two of the UK’s most familiar brands in Dyson and BlackBerry. He has worked as part of FTSE100 companies management teams for over a decade and in sales for 25 years.
Sasha Warr, from Outsourced HR, will also deliver a talk on HR issues. Sasha has more than 20 years’ experience in HR, having previously held Head of Department roles for both Renault Retail Group and Toshiba.
She supports clients in achieving their goals by transferring her extensive knowledge of best practice into practical solutions which can be adopted by organisations of all sizes.
Liz Short, from Business Health Partners, will talk about occupational health and making sure you’re looking after the physical and mental wellbeing of your staff.
The other two speakers will be Lisa Fleming, director of DH Recruitment, and a representative from RMT Accountants from Gosforth in Newcastle, who will talk about financial planning for recruitment as well as workplace pensions.
Lisa Fleming, who has organised the event, said: “A company’s best resources are its people.
“This event is all about the team effort, attracting good talent, retaining it and making a good team great.
“It’s vitally important that employers look after their staff in every way, and nurture and develop them, and this event will give attendees something tangible that they can take into their businesses as good practice.”
