Newton Aycliffe are hopeful that their enforced break will come to an end this weekend.
After three waterlogged weeks without a game they are due to return to Ebac Northern League action at home to North Shields on Saturday (3pm).
The Robins are the current FA Vase holders but were held to a draw in that competition on Wednesday night and so face a replay in Runcorn on Monday.
Aycliffe took a point from their trip to North Shields earlier in the season but will be hoping for all three at Moore Lane.
North Shields bring a large and enthusiastic band of supporters to away games and will be wanting to start their Christmas party early.
Peter Dixon’s Aycliffe side are though the league’s form team and a good game should be in prospect. Kick off is at 3pm.
On Tuesday (22nd) Aycliffe will play their FA Vase third round tie at home to Atherton Collieries.
This will be the third attempt to play the match, the wet weather beating the best efforts of the volunteers trying to get Moore Lane playable. Kick off will be 7.45pm.
