The Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) gave a warm welcome to Newton Aycliffe Tesco’s as the wonderful ‘Bags of Help’ scheme, which raised £2,000 for Options, a day service for adults with learning and physical disabilities.
Options was PCP’s first project established over 20 years ago. The group now runs five days a week and provides 68 places helping people to develop everyday skills, confidence and independence as well as working hard to fundraising for trips away including Liverpool, London and Kepplewray Activity Centre.
Tesco Bags of Help is a local community grant scheme where the money raised by the sale of carrier bags is being used to fund local projects. Members were delighted and very grateful for the donation received.
PCP chief executive Carol Gaskarth said: “Without the generosity of local organisations such as Tesco and the Bags of Help Scheme Options would not be able to do so much.
“The members decide what they’d like to do and the staff do a fantastic job of making their dreams a reality.
“The money will be used to help fund trips away and support members with ongoing learning and development.”
