A drop-in event will give prospective adopters the chance to find out more about the support available for those giving a loving home to a child.
It’s taking place on Thursday, July 12 and is a chance for people to find out more about adoption and the support available to adoptive parents. Anyone interested can pop along and find out more.
The event, organised by Durham County Council, is set to take place at Gala Theatre, Durham on Thursday, 12 July between 4.30pm and 6.30pm and experienced adopters and social workers will be on hand to offer advice to anyone considering adoption.
Michelle, an adoptive parent, said: “At first I was nervous about calling in case I wasn’t the sort of person they were looking for but my social worker was friendly, helpful and supported me all of the way.
“Now I have two boys and it has been great watching them grow and experiencing things for the first time.”
