Chapter Homes has advised it will be investing a significant amount to boost the local economy through its local suppliers commitment by hiring North-East based businesses where possible.
The firm, which is based in Durham, is building its first development in Eden Field, Newton Aycliffe.
The commitment to the use of local suppliers means Chapter Homes will put funds that may ordinarily go to larger firms back into the local economy.
Chapter Homes has already had success working with local suppliers and has extended its commitment to smaller firms, such as Weardale Flooring.
Chapter’s development director Richard Roddam, pictured (above, left) with Weardale Flooring owner Wayne Hindmarsh, said: “Chapter Homes is committed to helping the local economy.
“It’s a Durham-based business which exclusively builds in County Durham, so it’s important that the company supports regional businesses when possible.
“The North-East is a fantastic place for the construction industry, as its roots are in building and developing. I am pleased to have the opportunity to help the area thrive.”
Hindmarsh added: “I think it’s fantastic that Chapter Homes has made this commitment to employ North East suppliers.
“It’s a really big investment in the local economy to guarantee the survival of local businesses.”
