An energy firm plans to consult locals on its preferred lay-out for a controversial 24-turbine wind farm.
E.ON is proposing to build two clusters of seven turbines and one of 17 more than a mile apart east of Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.
The scheme, known as The Isles, was original drawn up by E.ON to hold 45 turbines but it was re-drafted E.ON says the wind farm will generate 63.5MW which will create enough power to power around 35,000 homes.
The new proposals are to be put on show at a series of public events during E.ON’s second stage of consultations.
The responses gathered at the events will be used by E.ON in its submission of the plans to the Planning Inspectorate in 2013.
