Woodham Academy has released a comprehensive and free iPhone & iPod touch app.
Designed to run on Apple’s latest operating system, iOS6, the app provides parents and students with access to essential school information no matter where they are.
With two taps parents can view term dates, parents’ evening dates, school concerts details, the school’s latest news, the school’s latest Ofsted report, a school map and use the interactive contact details.
Students can also access key dates along with a timetable builder, homework planner, house competition details, PCC dates and the school’s virtual learning environment, Moodle, where students can upload homework and read teacher feedback directly on their phone!
Associate Assistant Headteacher Darren Smith said: “I am delighted with the release of the school’s iPhone App.
“Not many schools in the country have an app despite the number of smart phones around.
“I am thrilled to see that our app sets the bar for the rest of the country to follow. The next task is to get my GCSE Computer Scientists to create a version for Android phones!”
To get the free app on your iPhone or iPod touch you can simply search for Woodham in the app store on your device.
Your device will require iOS6 to be installed although Woodham are adding compatibility for older Apple operating systems in the very near future.
