The manager of Defoe Court Care Home in Newton Aycliffe has been recognised for her work at a national awards ceremony.
Sarah Todd was named Rising Star of the Year at HC-One of a Kind Awards held at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester.
HC-One, which owns Defoe Court, is the UK’s third largest care home provider for older people.
It was the firm’s first annual awards ceremony to recognise colleagues who go above and beyond to deliver the kindest, high quality care to residents.
The Rising Star of the Year Award recognises one member of the HC-One team who displays real potential and pursues every opportunity to reach great heights.
Sarah was chosen due to her rapid career progression from senior carer to home manager, her great reputation within the local community around Defoe Court, and her commitment to providing the kindest care to residents.
“I am delighted to have received the Rising Star award, and so pleased that Emma has been also been recognised,” said Sarah.
“This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the wonderful support of the brilliant team at Defoe Court.”
HC-One regional managing director, Glen Mason, added: “The HC-One of a Kind Awards are about recognising and celebrating colleagues who demonstrate the kindest care and the best practice that we can all learn from.
“Each and every day, HC-One staff do incredible work, and make such a difference to the lives of Residents living in our homes. I am so proud to work with such inspirational, caring and kind people.”
