Around 50 people, all sporting pink, attended the event, which included an awareness chat from a charity volunteer Susan Broadhurst, who gave an inspiring talk about the charity and her personal journey battling the illness.
People took part in an hour-long zumba class then had the chance to sit back relax whilst having refreshments and cakes and receiving awareness leaflets.
Newtonian Sarah Nobbs said: “It was so much fun, my friend and I were zumba-ing all the way home!”
Angela Mason, known as Mammy Angela from Aycliffe Dance Academy, added: “Wow! What a fantastic night and big thank you to everyone who took part and made it a night to remember and supporting a worthy charity.
“A special big thank you to all who helped. So proud to know and love such special people.
“And a massive well done to my daughter Emma for organising such a special event. So proud of you!”
