Newton Aycliffe’s Northern League side face a crunch week of fixtures with four games in the space of seven days.
Peter Dixon’s side are still fourth in the first division despite their last two league games being postponed – at Washington last weekend and at home to West Auckland in midweek.
Aycliffe, like many teams, now face an arduous fixture backlog with at least two games a week for the remainder of the season, which has already been extended into early May.
The campaign will hopefully get back on track at 17th-placed Newcastle Benfield on Saturday (3pm).
Aycliffe are then due to entertain Ashington at Moore Lane Park on Tuesday night (15th March) before travelling to Washington on the Thursday, followed by a home game with relegation-threatened Bedlington Terriers next Saturday (19th March).
Aycliffe are also due to face second division side Whickham in the Durham Challenge Cup final on Good Friday (25th March).
