Saturday 15th August – NYSD Division 2
Newton Aycliffe 1st XI v Yarm 1st XI – weather was warm and sunny. Aycliffe won the toss and asked Yarm to bat first.
Yarm 1st XI 187 all out after 48.3 overs
Luke Telford 5 for 20 and Colin Myers 2 for 21
Newton Aycliffe 1st XI 124 all out after 39.4 overs.
Michael Howe 36, Colin Myers 23 and Tom Wickins 21 not out
Newton Aycliffe’s first team were well beaten by 63 runs at home to Yarm 1sts. Acting captain Luke Telford was man of the match for some excellent left arm spin bowling taking 5 for 20 from 9 overs. Aycliffe now have 268 points from 20 games and remain in 6th place in the 2nd division table.
Saturday 15th August – NYSD Division 3
Saltburn 2nd XI v Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI – match was cancelled as Saltburn’s ground was waterlogged and deemed unfit for cricket.
