Saturday 4th June – NYSD Division 2
Newton Aycliffe 1st XI v Maltby 1st XI – weather was dry and cloudy. Aycliffe won the toss and decided to bat first.

Maltby 1st XI 162 for 6 after 31.5 overs

Aycliffe’s first team had a disappointing four wicket defeat at home to Maltby 1st XI. Sam Telford (sponsored by his Mam & Dad) was nominated as man of the match for his superb innings of 74 not out, including seven boundaries and two big sixes and this was his third half century of the season.
After 9 games Aycliffe have won 3, drawn 1 and lost 5, and total 99 points and remain in mid table of the NYSD 2nd division.

Maltby 2nd XI v Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI – weather was dry and cloudy. Aycliffe lost the toss and were asked to bat first.

Maltby 2nd XI 150 for 9 after 50 overs
Sean Morgan 3 for 33, Jack Slatcher 2 for 25 and Elliott Holt 2 for 35
Aycliffe earned a tough winning draw away at Maltby 2nd XI and picked up 14 valuable points for their efforts. Jack Slatcher (sponsored by Mr & Mrs Greaves) was nominated man of the match with an excellent all round performance in his first game back after five weeks out due to injury. After 5 games in the NYSD 2nd division, Aycliffe 2nd XI have won 1, drawn 1, lost 3 and have 49 points and sit in 14th place in the NYSD 3rd division which contains 19 teams.
