Aycliffe bounced back after two defeats to win by 5 wickets away at Redcar 2nd XI. John Cavanagh (sponsored by CVO Fire) was given the man of the match award for taking 4 wickets for just 11 runs. The win takes Aycliffe to 262 points from 19 games and leaves them in 6th place in the NYSD 2nd division table.

Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI v Bishop Auckland 2nd XI – weather was warm and sunny. Bishop Auckland won the toss and Aycliffe to bat first.

Bishop Auckland 2nd XI – 127 for 6 after 28.2 overs

Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI lost at home to Bishop Auckland by 4 wickets. Captain Adam Gittins (sponsored by Pheonix Energy) celebrated his birthday with a determined innings of 31, which earned him the man of the match award.
The second team now have 206 points from 19 games and sit in 9th place in the NYSD 3rd division table.
