Newton Aycliffe 1st XI v Darlington RA 1st XI – weather was cool and cloudy. Aycliffe won the toss and asked Darlington RA to bat first.

Newton Aycliffe managed to beat the weather but couldn’t beat Darlington RA as they lost at home to the league leaders by 86 runs. Michael Howe (sponsored by Keziah Benson Photography) was nominated as man of the match after hitting his fourth half century of the season off just 44 balls, including six boundaries and a six. Special mention must also go to Subhan Christudas who took six wickets for just 29 runs, which was the best bowling by an Aycliffe player this season.
Aycliffe earned six bonus points from this defeat, which gives a points total of 153 and leaves them in 9th place in the 2nd division table, one place above the relegation zone.

Sedgefield 2nd XI v Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI – weather was cool and cloudy. Aycliffe won the toss and decided to bat first.

Sedgefield 2nd XI 188 for 2 after 35.1 overs
Jack Slatcher 1 for 35 and Elliott Holt 1 for 35
Aycliffe were well beaten by 8 wickets away at near neighbours Sedgefield 2nd XI in the NYSD division 3. Acting captain Jack Slatcher (sponsored by Mr & Mrs Greaves) earned the man of the match award for reaching his second half century of the season when he top scored with 60 runs. Aycliffe now have 75 points from ten games and sit in 15th place in the table out of 19.
