Newton Aycliffe 1st XI v Barnard Castle 2nd XI – weather was warm and sunny. Barnard Castle won the toss and chose to bat first.

Michael Howe 2 for 54 and Luke Telford 2 for 58
Newton Aycliffe 1st XI 188 all out after 43.3 overs
Subhan Christudas 60 not out, Michael Howe 54 and Sean Morgan 21.
Aycliffe’s first team were well beaten at home to promotion hopefuls Barnard Castle 2nd XI by 70 runs. Subhan Christudas was given the man of the match award for his excellent unbeaten 60 off 66 balls, including 12 boundaries. However credit must also go to all rounder Michael Howe who batted equally as well when he opened the innings and scored 54 from only 45 balls smashing 11 boundaries.
After 10 games played, Aycliffe sit just above the relegation positions in 9th place with 96 points in the NYSD 2nd division.
