A man was fined and given a community order after stealing booze from the town’s Aldi store.
Rodney Falla, 40, from Chilton, appeared at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on June 12, charged with theft of a bottle of rum and two bottles of vodka from Aldi in Newton Aycliffe on May 11 this year.
He was made subject of a community order where he must comply with an alcohol treatment programme under the direction of probation, and ordered to pay £24.53 compensation to Aldi.
