Community groups in Newton Aycliffe and Middridge area are being encouraged to apply for a Capital Small Grant, as part of a new pot of funding dedicated to community minded organisations that has been launched by Great Aycliffe and Middridge Partnership (GAMP).
The fund will provide a valuable source of funding to all non-profit making organisations in the Newton Aycliffe and Middridge area.
Groups can apply for up to £4,000 and applications are sought from charities, community groups and any non-profit organisation for projects that will directly benefit the area and improve the lives of local people.
The Capital Grant Fund is aimed specifically at items that provide or improve an asset for an organisation. This can include:
• Building works (a new boiler or heating system, new roof, new windows, new flooring, new kitchen etc).
• Larger equipment purchases (computers, furniture, cooker etc).
• Environmental improvements (new play areas and equipment, new fencing etc).
• Sports training or playing equipment (goal posts, scoreboards, specialist playing/training surfaces etc.).
If you are unsure whether the item you would like to apply for funding towards is classed as capital expenditure, please contact the GAMP office in the first instance.
Funding is open to local voluntary and community groups working within the Great Aycliffe and Middridge Partnership area. Groups can apply for amounts between £500 and £4,000. Groups can only make one application for this funding, and funding will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
All applications will be considered, especially those which meet GAMPs priorities which are: activities for young people, crime and community safety and employment, enterprise, education and training.
We welcome all voluntary and community groups to apply and while we would encourage match funding, we will consider fully funding a project idea.
Application packs are available from GAMP by calling 01325 327 441 or by emailing: [email protected].
