Durham County Councillor Neil Foster says business in County Durham is strong and healthy.
Cllr Foster is the local authority’s cabinet member for economic regeneration, and we spoke to him at Durham Oktoberfest – the manufacturing and engineering exhibition – on Aycliffe Business Park on Thursday.
After seeing a great turnout at the Xcel Centre, Cllr Foster told Aycliffe Today: “I think it says that we’re strong and that we’re healthy.
“We’ve had several developments over the last few years which have really taken us forward.
“At Aycliffe Business Park we do of course have Hitachi, which may be the jewel in the crown, but a lot of other firms are developing and we have the potential new site at Newton Park 2, which will bring more jobs to the area.
“There are a lot of firms really at the cutting edge here, and I’m delighted when they come together through their business networks which takes things forward.”
