Police in Spennymoor are investigating a break in at a takeaway outlet in Whitworth Terrace earlier today.
It happened between 2am and 8am on Tuesday, April 10.
Several items and a sum of money were taken by intruders who are believed to have left the premises via the front door onto the main street.
Any witnesses are asked to ring Durham Police on 101 and ask for PC Matty Hope at Bishop Auckland or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
People in the area are being advised to check the security of property and outbuildings and secure their premises at night.
