Sunderland v Wolves
Premier League (Sat, 3pm)
Which Sunderland will turn up? The one that outplayed title-chasing Man City? The one that held Champions League-dreamers Spurs? Or the one that was slaughtered by an Everton side with one eye on their FA Cup semi-final? If it’s anything approaching the former two, they should be able to easily see off a Wolves side plummeting into the Championship. Terry O’Connor hasn’t won yet ascaretaker manager at Wolves, and that shouldn’t be ending on Wearside.
Sunderland to recover from midweek mauling to tame Wolves in a 3-1 victory.
Derby v Middlesbrough
Championship (Sat, 3pm)
Middlesbrough haven’t won in eight games, yet are still within two points of a play-off place. Defeats to Cardiff and Hull seemed to have ended all hope of a place in the play-offs but, as usual, nobody took advantage, with Blackpool, Brighton and Cardiff dropping points. But Boro can’t afford to keep dropping points. However, in Derby, they face one of the form sides in the league. County have lost just twice in their last 10 outings as they’ve climbed within three points of Boro, and five of a play-off spot. Both sides need the win. Neither side can afford a loss. Draw.
More dropped points for Boro in a 1-1 draw.
