Newton Aycliffe-based business BTS Facades and Fabrications has announced expansion plans with new funding from Barclays.
Established in 2006, BTS Facades and Fabrications is based at Woodham Road on Aycliffe Business Park, currently employing 50 people, and turnover is expected to exceed £6m this year with the new machinery.
The family business is run by brothers Philip and David Atkinson and specialises in the production of metal rain screen systems and fabricated metal construction products and is able to produce bespoke products with many of their clients operating blue chip companies.
The new funding from Barclays has enabled BTS to invest in new machinery which will help automate much of the process.
Managing director Philip said: “We’re delighted to be expanding the business and decided that we needed to be able to increase production and offer new products.
“The new machinery will enable us produce more flexible and bespoke products at a faster rate enabling us to take on new clients and increase output.
“We work alongside building designers to understand the overall project vision to make sure the work that we do will interface seamlessly into the completed construction.
“Barclays has once again supported our growth plans with funding and enabled us to complete very quickly on the new equipment.”
Michael Wicks, Barclays’ business relationship director who put together the funding package for the deal, said: “We’ve worked with the Atkinson family for some time now and they run an excellent business with years of experience in all types of complex fabrication systems.
“The new equipment will speed up manufacturing times and enable them to take on new clients and projects, consolidating their long-term growth plans.”
