Globetrotting students raised more than £350 to help fund an international school trip by packing bags for shoppers.
A group of Greenfield Community College pupils completed the fundraising stunt at Newton Aycliffe’s Tesco Extra store.
The students raised £353.47 from the bag-pack – which will go towards £1,495 they’re aiming to raise to help fund their World Challenge expedition to Morocco in July this year.
The expedition to the country in North Africa is an educational travel experience that provides pupils with the opportunity to complete a project phase, such as renovating an old, run-down primary playground and then a trek across the High Atlas Mountains.
“Both the pupils and school would like to thank everyone who contributed towards the funds received last Saturday and the kind generosity of the Newton Aycliffe public,” said the school.
“We would like to thank Tesco for their excellent hospitality and support during the bag pack last Saturday.”
