Barnard Castle 2nd XI v Newton Aycliffe 1st XI – weather was mild and sunny. Newton Aycliffe won the toss and chose to bat first.

Newton Aycliffe first team’s outside chance of promotion to the first division slipped away when they were defeated by five wickets away at bogey side Barnard Castle 2nd XI who in turn leapfrogged Aycliffe into 3rd place in the 2nd division table.
Darryn Bancroft (sponsored by Utility Warehouse) was man-of-the-match after top scoring for Aycliffe with 31 runs off 58 balls faced and he hit six boundaries.

Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI v Billingham Synthonia 2nd XI – weather was warm and sunny. Billingham Synthonia won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Aycliffe second team’s recent unbeaten run come to a shuddering halt when they were thrashed by nine wickets at home to newly promoted Billingham Synthonia 2nd XI.
Dave Wright, who was named man-of-the-match, was the only batsman to reach double figures with 14 runs and Dan Weldon who took the only wicket to fall, were the only bright spots on a forgettable day for the seconds.
The team remain in 5th place in the table with just one game left to play this season.
