The season began last weekend for many of our 22 boys and girls Youth Teams in the Russel Foster and TJFA Leagues.
Some still must wait a week. But here’s our first round-up from the new season…
Aycliffe u12 Eagles 11 v 3 Skelton United
Great first game of the season, at a beautiful sunny Oakleaf. Superb performances from both side, technical training really showing from our Eagles.
Goals: Sam x3, Tarek x5, Faris, Michal & Harrison. MOTM Oliver x
Sedgefield Whites 0 v 15 Aycliffe u13 Eagles
The Eagles first game of the season after being promoted and what a performance it was. From keeper to forwards, every player played their part in a outstanding performance and win. Sedgefield battled well until the final whistle but the Aycliffe lads were on top form winning their one-on-one battles all over the pitch and working so well as a team. MoM Leiland
Aycliffe u10 Eagles v Stockton Town
Both teams cancelled each other out in first half but then the lads played some great football and made the break through after some sustained pressure on the Stockton Goal with a great strike from an acute angle from Harry L. With three minutes to go Stockton made it 1-1 but Eagles showed their class with some neat passing in the box to find Phoenix H who scored the winner in the last minute.
Saltburn v Aycliffe u8 Eagles
An excellent opening to the new season with game level at half time, it was Aycliffe that went on to win the game. Goals from Josh 3, Ollie and Austin
Hartlepool Pools Youth 0 v 4 Aycliffe u12 Wildcats
A great start to the season. The girls were superb from start to finish. They battled throughout even in the extreme heat. Goals from Phoebe and Imogen 2-0 at half time, and we said how important the next goal was. We scored early in the second half through Evie, and she scored again 10 mins later. Imogen hit the post, and Lucy went close in the dying minutes. FT 4-0
Aycliffe u14 Girls 7 v 1 Washington Wildcats
An emphatic display at home on our first game of the season. Aycliffe were 2-0 up at halftime. Ebony grabbed an impressive hat trick before Scarlett and Miller scored a brace each to win 7-1 which sets us up nicely for the season ahead.
Aycliffe u13 Girls 4 v 2 Bishop Pinks
This was a very good start to the season against a very tough opponent. Throughout the game both teams had an equal amount possession and scoring opportunities. The game was very fast paced from start to finish and the girls had to work extremely hard to secure a win in their first game of the season. POTM: Marley
