Students from Woodham Academy recently competed in the South West Durham County Cross Country Championships, held at Barnard Castle School.
The 25 students from years 7, 8, 9 and 10 all featured in the team.
Teachers say they were a credit to the school, consistently demonstrating Woodham’s core values of aiming high, working hard, never giving up and being kind.
Students had to run various distances, depending on their age groups ranging from one to two miles.
“Overall, students placed considerably well,” said PE teacher Georgia Leybourne.
“Year 10 Daisy D gained third place in the intermediate girl’s group, which was made up of up to 50 Year 10 and 11 girls.
“We are extremely proud of the students who represented Woodham Academy.”
