It has been another busy week for Aycliffe Running Club with the races continuing to come thick and fast.
On Wednesday, July 31, three members took part in the Gerry Kearlsey Handicap race, which is a multi terrain route on trails around Fishburn and Bishop Middleham with handicaps based on a most recent 10k time.

On Saturday, one member took part in the Isaacs Tea Trail Race, which is a 37-mile loop from Allendale, via Nenthead, Alston and Ninebanks and includes over 5,000 feet of ascent, making it a really challenging run for anyone.
Set in stunning scenery, Sandrine Hewitt completed the course, running further than the suggested distance, finishing in a time of 12:33:01.
All the more remarkable considering, the injury problems she faced in the build up to the race.
There were times, she felt like giving up, but Sandrine showed amazing determination and mindset to keep going until the end and everyone at the club is proud of her achievement.
