It has been another busy week for Aycliffe Running Club as winter racing continues.
On Sunday, two members took part in the Run Durham Remembrance Day 5 Miler.
David Stothard (53:44) was third in the over 50 category with Ian Stothard (59:17) fourth in the over 50 category.
At the same time, two members took part in the 10 miler event, with Laura Hudson (1:39:14), third in the senior ladies category. Stephen Dunn also took part, finishing in a time of 1:22:41.
At the same time, one member took part in the Heaton Harriers Memorial Race which was a 10k race.
Alan Wilks finished first in the over 75 category finishing in a time of 52:36.
This event was also part of the North East Masters Athletics Association (NEMAA) championships which saw Alan take home the gold medal and continue his excellent year in the NEMAA championships.
On Saturday, November 4, 34 members started their weekend with a parkrun, taking in the Silksworth, Town Moor, Rothwell, Sedgefield, Darlington South Park, Hackworth, Hartlepool, Rising Sun, Sutton Park, The Pastures, Jubilee, Agnew and Edgbaston
events.
At Silksworth, Heather Bainbridge and Mark Bainbridge completed the course, finishing together in a time of 30:29.
At Rothwell, Alan Kellet (30:13) and Anne Kellett (31:53) both completed the course for the first time. At Darlington South Park, Richard Trowles (18:14) set a new personal best for the course.
At Rising Sun, Carley Cooper (29:13), Sandrine Hewitt (29:52) and Em Flynn all completed the course for the first time.
At the Pastures Laura Grainger (28:53) completed the course for the first time. Trevor Agnew (21:34) and Jimmy Agnew (22:30) both travelled to the aptly named Agnew parkrun for the first time with Trevor finishing third and Jimmy seventh.
Steve Williams (29:25) and Viv Williams (31:47) continued with their parkrun tourism taking in the event at Edgbaston Reservoir for the first time.
On Saturday, November 11, 29 members started their weekend with a parkrun, taking in the Town Moor, Newbury, Sedgefield, Burgess, Darlington South Park, Hackworth, Herrington Country Park, Hamsterley, , Wynyard Woodland, and Denton Dene events.
At Newbury, Martin Turnbull set a new personal best for the course of 20:14.
Bernadette Cooper finished as first lady at Hackworth finishing in a time of 24:29.
Melanie Rowland completed the course at Hackworth for the first time, finishing in a time of 30:43. Over at Herrington, Richard Trowles finished second setting a new personal best for the course of 18:23.
At Hamsterley, Anthony Dickinson completed the course for the first time, finishing in a time of 32:16.
Over at Wynyard Woodland, Steve and Viv Williams ran the course together for the first time, finishing in a time of 32:08. David Stothard (26:36) and Ian Stothard (31:41) both completed the course at Denton Dene for the first time.
