This week’s round-up starts with a look back at the Locomotion 5K, the latest race in the Darlington Trail Series Summer Series, which took place on Wednesday, April 20.
The race took place in Middleton St. George, with much of the course following the path of the original Darlington to Stockton railbed.
Paul Dalton was first home for the club, finishing in second place overall, in a time of 19:03.

There were no significant milestones achieved at parkrun this weekend, however we did have runners representing the club at the Cotsford Fields, Darlington South Park, Durham, Hackworth, Redcar, Sedgefield and Town Moor events.
There was a wide selection of races available for members on Sunday. Brett Lambert took on the Derwent Reservoir 10K Trail Race, hosted by Wild Deer Events. Brett completed the course in 52:39.
Richard Ccampbell also hit the trails, taking on the Trail Outlaws’ Washington Trail 10K Race. Richard completed the undulating course in 43:23, finishing in sixth place overall and third in his age category (M40).
David and Ian Stothard also opted for an off-road race, taking on the Run Durham Hamsterley 10K. David completed the tough course in 1:01:09, with Ian finishing in 1:12:56.
Shaun Dodd ventured onto the fells of the North Yorkshire Moors, taking on the Blakey Blitz Fell Race.
