We start this week with our usual round up from our local parkruns, with the club represented at the Albert, Darlington South Park, Hackworth, Hartlepool and Sedgefield events.
At Albert parkrun, Gareth Kyle registered a new Personal Best (PB) for the 5K distance, running sub-18 minutes for the first time (17:53).
Over at Hartlepool parkrun, Angela Sutheran was setting herself a new PB for the event, crossing the line in 22:23, whilst at Hackworth parkrun, Jayne Rudd continued her recent good form by establishing a new best time for that particular event (30:47).
Later on Saturday morning, three Members participated in the Ronnie Walker Saltwell 10K Road Race, one of the oldest road races in Britain, which took in the undulating paths around Saltwell Park, and some closed roads on the outskirts of the park.
Stuart Joyce completed the race in 44:48, with Richard Holland coming home in 48:14, and Simon Turner just behind him in 48:23.
On Sunday, Brett Lambert was the club’s sole representative at the Slaley Hall Christmas Races, hosted by Wild Deer events. Taking on the 8 Mile race option, Brett crossed the line in 1:38:59.
Finally on Sunday, three members took on the Santa 10K Trimdon Trail Race hosted by Muddy Roads.
Craig Robinson was first home for the club in a time of 57:54, and he was followed by David Stothard in 1:00:04.
Eve Doe was our sole female representative in the race, completing her run in 1:13:47, and finishing second in her age category (F60).
