Newton Aycliffe remain top of the Ebac Northern League despite Saturday’s game at Northallerton falling victim to the weather.
The game was one of many called off following last week’s snow.
Second-placed Ashington did manage to get their game in and moved to within three points of Aycliffe following a late winner against Guisborough.
Meanwhile Aycliffe welcome West Allotment Celtic to the SecuriCorp Stadium on Saturday (March 18) for what will be their penultimate home game of the season.
Although Aycliffe have seven games remaining only two are at Moore Lane. The last home game is against Sunderland RCA on Saturday, April 1.
Brian Atkinson’s side will be looking to make amends after losing at West Allotment back in October.
Jake Petitjean’s penalty was the consolation in the 3-1 loss at East Palmersville.
Since then, Aycliffe have been on a remarkable run which has taken them to the top of the table.
The club are hoping for a good turnout on Saturday to support the team who are pushing for promotion.
In recent weeks Atkinson has further strengthened his squad, bringing in forwards Joey Smith and Kyle Davis from Thornaby and Billingham Town respectively.
Kick off is 3pm at Moore Lane on Saturday with admission £7 adults, £5 concessions & accompanied under 12s free.
