Aycliffe racing driver Scarlet Whitaker Dunn has returned to the racetrack for the first time in 2023.
Battling against the extremely cold conditions and a very busy racetrack, Scarlet still managed to put in some very impressive laps around the Warden Law circuit in Sunderland.
Scarlet, aged 11, is a pupil at Woodham Academy and is the daughter of Amanda Whitaker Dunn – one of Britain’s most successful female racing drivers, with over 50 race wins and three national and 1 European single seater Championship titles to her name in a glittering, 20-year career.
“I’m so proud of Scarlet – she drove well and was so keen to be back on track,” said Amanda.
Scarlett added: “It was really busy on track which made the sessions exhilarating! The cold winter weather wasn’t the best but there was lots of new friends to meet.”
Scarlet’s Grandad, Ron Whitaker – who was also a former racer in the 1970’s – purchased and prepared Scarlett’s car for racing.
The family would like to thank team Amaron Racing and PHM (Peninsula Historic Motorsport) for making this possible.
