The first half of this contest flattered to deceive, as it finished 0-0 with both sides not having too much in the way of chances.
The second half saw Aycliffe come alive and sweep aside the Colliers. Skipper Ethan Wood broke the deadlock with a brilliant strike from outside a crowded box (we won’t mention his celebration however!).

February 1: Newton Aycliffe 5, Bridlington Town 0
Carrying on their ruthless goal scoring form from Tuesday night’s Ashington game Aycliffe tore apart another team, this time Bridlington Town.
It was arguably over from the first half as Liam Jarvie, Liam Adamson and Jack Clarkson had made it 3-0 before half time.
The second half saw Jarvie and Adamson make it a brace. A much-deserved rout by Aycliffe who are now firmly on a play-off push.
