Newton Aycliffe FC kick off the 2018-19 season on Saturday August 4 when Ryhope CW visit Moore Lane Park.
Deano Browne’s team will feature several new faces for this campaign – Aycliffe’s tenth in the Ebac Northern League.
Committee and volunteers, led by chairman Allan Oliver, have worked hard to get the ground ready, with new pitch drainage being installed following several postponements over the last couple of seasons.
The recent dry spell has hampered preparations and as a result there have been no home pre-season friendlies this summer.
The friendly against Liversedge on Saturday (July 28) is now being played at the West Riding County FA ground at Woodlesford near Leeds.
Aycliffe’s most recent friendlies have seen a 3-3 draw against Northern League champions Marske United and a 2-1 win at Garforth Town.
As well as Liversedge Aycliffe will also play at Northallerton Town & Darlington RA in the last week before the season proper gets under way.
The Northallerton game will once again be for the Frank Swinburne Memorial Cup, named after the popular Aycliffe committee member.
