The Pioneering Care Partnership says it was “overwhelmed” to receive an unexpected and generous donation.
The Aycliffe Masonic Lodge donated £250 towards the running costs of the Memory Café at PCP.
Robbie Davison, charity steward of the lodge, said: “The Freemasons hold a series of events and fundraising activities throughout the year and are always very pleased to support local charitable work.
“We were particularly keen to help a project that supports older people, the Memory Café at the Pioneering Care Centre was a natural choice to benefit from funds raised at a recent social night held at the Masonic Hall, Ferryhill.”
PCP chief executive Carol Gaskarth said: “We run the memory café fortnightly and it provides an opportunity for people with dementia and their families or carers to come along, reminisce, socialise and meet people who have similar experiences.
“The donation of £250 is fantastic and will be used to provide resources and interactive activities for those who attend. We would like to thank Robbie and the Freemasons Lodge along with all those who support their fundraising efforts, we are truly very grateful.”
