A Newton Aycliffe fire officer ran 48 miles in a day at the weekend to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity.
Rob Cherrie joined chief fire officer (CFO) for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service Stuart Errington and officers Phil Innis and Dan Wootton in the ultra challenge on Sunday.
They ran 48 miles from Rowlands Gill in the north, to the village of Croft in North Yorkshire (on the CDDFRS southern border) during the course of the day.
Family, friends and colleagues joined the team en route to run various stages of the challenge and boost morale.
Stuart Errington said: “We were running to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity, which supports serving and former firefighters and staff across the country.
“We’re very grateful for all of the help that we’ve received from our support team who kept us going with drinks and food along the way.
“I’d also like to thank everyone who sponsored us to run, as well as the Croft Hotel, whose staff kindly welcomed us and our families at the end of the challenge.”
