Newton Aycliffe FC are planning their second annual Family Fun Day this summer after last year’s success.
Hundreds of people turned out for last summer’s event – and organisers are expecting an even bigger turn-out for this year’s, which is being held on Sunday 8th July at Aycliffe Sports Club.
Aycliffe FC’s sponsorship manager Barry Waters organised the club’s inaugural fun day at short notice last year.
So he’s planning a bigger and better event this summer, with a range of entertainment and fun on offer for families around the sides of the club’s pitch at Moore Lane Park.
“It should be a really good day for all the family,” said Barry (pictured).
“It’s only the second time we’ve organised this, but last year was a tremendous success, given the short timescale in which we put it all together.
“There’ll be loads more on offer for all members of the family this year so, weather permitting, it should be a cracking day for everyone.”
Entertainment on the day will include a bouncy castle, a speed goal, a brass band, a range of American vintage cars, football coaching, an army assault course, an archery demonstration, Tombola, face-painting and a coconut shy, while refreshments will be readily available.
There’ll also be a table top sale (£5 a table). Anyone who’d like to get involved can contact Barry on 07864 718243, or email [email protected]
● Meanwhile, Aycliffe FC are still inviting fans and residents to volunteer their services on matchdays for the 2012-13 season.
The club are expected to announce a number of major developments this summer which will enable them to push on again after finishing ninth in their inaugural Northern League first division campaign.
But they need more hands-on help on matchdays – anyone interested in getting involved can contact secretary Steve Cunliffe on 07872 985501, or email [email protected]
