A Newton Aycliffe man had to be air-lifted to hospital after a serious road collision.
The motorcyclist suffered potential spinal and pelvic fractures after a road traffic collision on the A167 near Ferryhill on Friday (21st November).
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) worked alongside ambulance service personnel to treat the 53-year-old Aycliffe man for his serious injuries.
He was flown to the major trauma centre at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, where his condition was said to be serious but stable.
GNAAS said the flight from scene to hospital took just eight minutes. By road, the journey could have been upwards of 40 minutes.
