Aycliffe’s Neighbourhood Policing Team says crime in the town is down by 4%.
NPT Sergeant Mark Edwards Mark Edwards (pictured) has also told Aycliffe Today that the current crime detection rate stands at 40% – the second highest in the County.
In his regular blog on AT, Sergeant Edwards writes: “Overall crime has reduced by 4% (as of the end of March this year) when compared to this time last year, and our current crime detection rate stands at 40%, which puts Aycliffe (including Sedgefield and Shildon) the second highest in the County!
“I appreciate that these numbers mean nothing if you have been a victim of crime, but I’m just trying to highlight how committed the officers and teams that work in this area are to addressing crime.”
