Saturday 15th June – NYSD Division 2
Shildon 1st XI v Newton Aycliffe 1st XI – weather was chilly with heavy showers. Shildon won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Aycliffe’s batsmen struggled badly in the bowler friendly conditions and were thankful that the rain intervened and forced the game to be abandoned with their score on a precarious 47 for 7 after 29 overs.
After eight games, the first team have 63 points and remain at the bottom of the second division table.

Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI v Preston 1st XI – weather was chilly with heavy showers. Newton Aycliffe won the toss and chose to bat first.
Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI 56 for 3 after 18 overs
Jai Sander 28, Matty Greaves 10, Will Dearden 7 not out and Dan Weldon 5 not out
The match was abandoned after 18 overs due to persistent rain with Aycliffe nicely placed at 56 for 3.
After nine games, the second team have 56 points and remain in 12th place in the fourth division table.
