Hartlepool 2nd XI v Newton Aycliffe 1st XI – weather was mild with showers. Hartlepool won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Newton Aycliffe’s 1st team were comfortably beaten by five wickets away at second in the table Hartlepool 2nd XI in division two of the NYSD.
Sixteen-year-old Tom Dearden (pictured above, sponsored by Kevin Burton), who was promoted from the club’s 2nd team, was the star of the show when he top scored with a brilliant 82 off 123 balls and his eye catching innings included six boundaries and a six.
Aycliffe picked up six bonus points from their defeat at Hartlepool, which takes their points total to 192 from 18 games played and they drop down to eighth place in the NYSD 2nd division table with only four games left to play this season.

Guisborough 2nd XI 65 for 2 after 15.5 overs
Aycliffe’s 2nd team were well beaten at home by eight wickets against runaway league leaders Guisborough 2nd XI in their NYSD 4th division match.
The second team picked up just two points from the game and now have 204 points from 20 games played and they drop down to seventh place in the NYSD fourth division table with just four games remaining this season.
