Saturday 13th May – NYSD Division 2
Newton Aycliffe 1st XI v Marton 2nd XI – weather was mild and sunny. Newton Aycliffe won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Marton 2nd XI 130 all out after 41.2 overs
Luke Telford 4 for 49, Matty Greaves 3 for 9 and Leo Mercy 2 for 11
Newton Aycliffe 1st XI 107 all out after 42.5 overs
Adam Gittins 41, Matty Greaves 13 and Joe Teasdale 11
The first team lost a low scoring game by just 23 runs at home to Marton 2nd XI.
Luke Telford continued his good form with the ball taking 4 for 49 from 13.2 overs in the Marton innings.
Adam Gittins then top scored in the Aycliffe reply with 41 from 107 balls and his gritty innings contained six boundaries.
Matty Greaves (sponsored by Britannia Fire, pictured above) also emerged from the game with credit finishing with 3 for 9 with the ball and then scoring 13 in the Aycliffe reply.

Darlington RA 2nd XI v Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI – weather was mild and sunny. Darlington RA won the toss and chose to bat first.
Darlington RA 2nd XI 205 for 6 declared after 34 overs
Dan Heaton 2 for 1, Leo Stout 2 for 11 and Jai Sander 1 for 13
Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI 50 all out after 31.2 overs

Newton Aycliffe’s young second team were well beaten by a much more experienced Darlington RA 2nd XI by 157 runs.
However 15 year old Leo Stout (sponsored by Tindale Deli) had a good game, finishing with 2 for 11 from his 5 over spell and was then the not out batsman in the Aycliffe reply.
Fellow 15-year-old Dan Heaton again shone with the ball taking two wickets for just one run
