Newton Aycliffe 1st XI v Darlington 2nd XI – weather was very hot and sunny. Darlington won the toss and chose to bat first.

The first team were well beaten at home by 84 runs to strong promotion candidates Darlington 2nd XI.
Sam Telford (sponsored by the Thomas-Fairhurst Family) had another excellent innings top scoring with 54 from 35 balls faced and he smashed seven boundaries and three big sixes.
Adam Gittins also batted well scoring 44 from 112 balls, including seven boundaries and in the process became only the fifth person in Newton Aycliffe’s history to pass the notable 6,000 aggregate runs milestone.
Aycliffe first team picked up 9 bonus points from this defeat and they dropped down to 10th place in the 2nd division table with 216 points from 19 games played with just three games remaining this season.

Bedale 2nd XI v Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI – weather was very hot and sunny. Newton Aycliffe won the toss and chose to bat first.

Newton Aycliffe’s youngster’s continued their recent good form with another victory, this time defeating Bedale 2nd XI away by 117 runs.
Captain Ryan Patrick (sponsored by A Star Bathrooms, pictured above)) top scored for Aycliffe with 66 runs from 75 balls faced and he hit eight boundaries and two sixes.
Aycliffe’s Dan Weldon bowled an unbroken ten over spell when the homeside replied and he was rewarded for his efforts in the baking heat with 3 wickets for 29 runs to help bowl out Bedale for just 101.
The twenty five points gained takes the 2nd team seasonal total to 142 from 17 games played and they consolidate tenth place in the table.
