Saturday 22nd June – NYSD Division 2
Newton Aycliffe 1st XI v Stockton 1st XI (Match sponsored by Upex) – weather was warm and sunny. Aycliffe won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Stockton 1st XI 183 all out after 42.3 overs
Patrick Howe 7 for 35, Adam Randall 1 for 3 and Jack Slatcher 1 for 25
Newton Aycliffe 1st XI 135 all out after 44.2 overs
Sam Telford 52, Michael Howe 19 and Ryan Patrick 16 not out
Aycliffe’s first team lost by 48 runs at home to top of the table Stockton 1st team. Patrick Howe (sponsored by Tom Steele) bowled superbly for Aycliffe taking a career best 7 for 35 from his 8.3 overs spell. Special mention must also go to acting captain Sam Telford (pictured above) who scored a typically robust 52 from only 43 balls faced and his innings included ten boundaries and one big six.
Aycliffe remain ninth in the NYSD Division Two division table with 111 points from 11 games played.

Stockton 2nd XI v Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI – weather was warm and sunny. Aycliffe won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Stockton 2nd XI 229 for 8 declared after 40 overs
Lewis Gimple 4 for 31 and Matty Greaves 2 for 42
Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI 54 all out after 25.1 overs
Dan Craggs 15 and Lewis Gimple 10
The second team lost for only the second time this season and both defeats were against top of the table Stockton 2nd XI. Despite the heavy loss by 175 runs, all-rounder Lewis Gimple had a good game for Aycliffe taking four for 31 with the ball and then scoring ten runs with the bat.
At the half-way stage of their season, the second team drop to ninth place in the NYSD fourth division table with 58 points from nine games played.
