Newton Aycliffe 1st XI v Hartlepool 2nd XI – weather was very hot and sunny. Hartlepool won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Newton Aycliffe 1st XI 152 all out after 48.2 overs

Aycliffe had a hard-fought victory at home to Hartlepool second team by just nine runs. Captain Luke Telford (sponsored by Pheonix Energy, pictured above) was given the man-of-the-match award for an excellent all-round display during which he scored an invaluable unbeaten 26 late in the innings and then helped to peg back the Hartlepool batsmen with the ball, taking two for 40 from his long 13 over spell.
The win keeps Aycliffe firmly in the promotion places and they now sit third in the 2nd division table, just two points ahead of Rockliffe Park and only four points behind second-placed Sedgefield.
