Saturday 29th April – NYSD Division 2
Shildon Railway 1st XI v Newton Aycliffe 1st XI – weather was dry and sunny. Shildon won the toss and chose to bowl first.

The first team had their first win of the season with a resounding 74 run victory away at near neighbours Shildon Railway. Michael Howe (sponsored by Yvonne and Bobby Wood) picked up the man of the match award with an excellent all round performance including a fine innings of 55 (including 9 boundaries) and then taking 3 for 26 with the ball.

Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI v Blackhall 2nd XI – weather was dry and sunny. Blackhall won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Blackhall 2nd XI 98 for 1 after 13.3 overs

The second team lost for the second consecutive week to an experienced Blackhall side by nine wickets. Dan Weldon, playing only his second game in two seasons due to work commitments was awarded the man of the match for an excellent unbeaten 32 from 60 balls faced and his innings contained four boundaries.
Bank Holiday Monday 1st May – NYSD Division 4
Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI v Preston 1st XI – weather was dry and sunny. Preston won the toss and chose to bat first.
Preston 1st XI 137 all out after 43.1 overs
James Layfield-Carroll 4 for 25, Tom Wickins 2 for 11, Lucas Pilling 2 for 17 and Dylan Tribley 2 for 29
Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI 84 all out after 22.3 overs

The second team lost by 53 runs at home to Preston and 16 year old Dylan Tribley was given the man of the match award for some excellent bowling finishing with 2 for 29 from 10.1 overs.
